Here's where I spent the last 10 days, in Hawaii. This is a shot on the hike along the NaPali Coast, on the north side of Kauai. Very pretty hike! I'll try to post more as I get them off my camera.

I took a Vic Farmer and Mora along. The more I use the Farmer, the more I think I don't need much more folder with me. I stuck with cheap blades in case the luggage was pilfered, but it wasn't.

Enjoy!

PS - Yes, it really was that pretty. And humid... ;)

Wow, amazing pic. I just read a really neat National Geographic article about the NaPali Coast. What a magical place.

I just got back from 6 days in Oahu. I have to say, Hawaii wasn't high on my list of places to go before......but it's WAY up there on my list of places to go back to. Outstanding scenery. Just an amazing place. I didn't get to do much in the way of hiking but did some snorkeling and was blown away.

Can't wait to see more of your pics.

Am I weird for first thinking of the word "banana" when I saw that picture? :D Looking nice, but not my kind of place. Too damn warm. :p

Dang. Very nice pic. I wanna go!

Ok, here's some more. These are all from Kauai, I'll try to get some Oahu pictures up soon.

This is Waimea Canyon, hope I spelled that right. Very pretty.

Here are some cool tree buds/flowers we found in the canyon. I have no idea what they are, maybe one of you will know.

If you drive to the top of the road that goes through Waimea Canyon, you get to an overlook that looks over the Napali coast, which is the north shore of Kauai. It is actually much prettier than these show, my camera didn't get the really deep blues of the ocean for some reason. The trail that we hiked is off to the right a few miles. To give you some perspective, these pictures are taken from an overlook that's 4000 ft. above sea level.

More of the trail hiking pics. Someone stuck a palm leaf into a stream for an expedient water fountain. The water still needs to be treated, but a neat trick.

A neat bird and some pine needle carpeting on the trail:

This is a beach about 2 miles into the trail. It has been used heavily by Hollywood, the beach scene in the movie "From Here to Eternity" was filmed here, as was many others. It's actually very dangerous, the currents and riptides are strong, by their last count, 82 tourists have drowned on this beach.

A stream that feeds into the ocean at the beach.

This is the beach at the trailhead. It has a great protective reef, and is a popular snorkeling spot, I think it's called Kee beach. The other beach is behind the second (middle) "jutting out" of the coastline.

All kinds of riff-raff hang out at Kee beach. This is a Monk seal.

Enjoy!

And humid.... It's a nice place to visit,.... I'm amazed at the locals who wear turtlenecks and fleece as soon as the sun goes down. Once it gets below 85, they shiver..... :D

Oh, my. It's not just a beach! Maybe I will give in and take my wife someday... hiking in beautiful canyons, what a gorgeous place!

Thanks for the memories, my wife and I spent 10 days on Kauai in 99, absolutely beautiful island.

My favorite part was the NaPali cost trail spent 3 days exploring that area.

Killer Hiking trail.

My wife took some great shots of Waimea Canyon a few have several rainbows all over the place, it was very .

Thanks for sharing
