kHinife nuts, I have been a knife collector for 50 yearsI purchased my firest knife in 1960 a Randall modle12 SIMTHSONIAN BOWIE FOR $45 and I still have today but because of health problems I am selling my knife collection. I will start with A.G. RUSSELL STING BOOT KNIVES. I will be selling them in groups, the first group has 4 Stings. 1 1. INDIA STAG SCALES $600
2. HIPPO IVORY SCALES $700
3. CORAL (BURGNDY) SCALES $575
4. BLACK LININ MICARTA SCALES $500
_______ TOTAL $2,375
All knives have original A.G. RUSSELL SHEATHS. The India Stag Sting is in mint condation and there were 150 stag Stings made,100 with small brass pins they sold in Germany only 50 with the large pins produced, and I know it was made in 1977 by the oval stamp on the blade is blank in the center and Russell is misspled on the ricasso it only has one L.
The Hippo Ivory scale Sting is in mint-plus condition. this is my rarest Sting not only was it produced in the first production run, there is only one with Hippo Ivory ever made.
My next Sting has micarta Coral(Burgandy color)it is in mint condition.
The last one is in near mint condition it has some pitting on the large pins that hold the black micarta scales on.
I have signed emails from A.G. that comfirm all my statements about my colection. If you have any questions you can call me at 870-793-4787,or email me at davidboone@hotmail.com

Stunning collection. I have a black chrome Ia and a standard rosewood, and have always loved the knives. Your pictures made me drool.

chogue1980, Thanks for the great feedback on my collection. a mirrow finish is one of the hardest knives to photograh.

Ok I am going to change the sale from selling all four Stings to a mix or match. You can buy one or all of the group.

The Sting with Hippo Ivory scales has a pending buyer, so if you had your eye on it I will let you know if the sale does not go through. I know money is tight right now. So I will make payments arrangements on any of my knives. If you want one are all of them you would pay half the price now and the balance in Oct. Once again I want to tell you how rare these knives are. I have signed emails from A.G. RUSSELL who designed one of the most popular boot knife ever made. When you see one for sell on ebay it always says that you are buying an originial A.G. RUSSELL STING BOOT KNIFE MADE IN 1977. Since they were produced for almost 20 years they all could not have been made in 1977. The reason they have the same date is because of the way they were made, they were made by the method of drop forging instead of machining (whitch would have cost several hundard dollars) with integral hilt and butt cap in one piece of the finest SOLINGEN HIGH-CARBON STAINLESS STEEL. Then they were shipped to Springdale, ARKANSAS where the scales were put on. For any one that makes a purchase of one of my knives will also receive a color copy of the cover of the of the 1977 winter edition of the catalog of knives that indrouced the Sting and a copy of the ad showing the 5 scales handles and the serially numbered LIMITED EDITION with gold etched with OAK LEAF & ACRON (I have 3 I will be putting up for sale).. Also, If you purchase one of the very rare ones (example the Hippo Ivory or the India stag) you will receive the orinigal signed email from A.G. that I had taken to Rodgers AR. for the EVENT THE KNIFE SHOW in late July of 2010 for him to sign. I have not decided who will get my binder that I have that has all my photos and the mint condition 1977 winter edition CATALOG OF KNIVES and the article I have collected over the years.
