For Sale: Bowen Blades: Large Tanto and Bowie

Up for sale are two Bowen Blades.

Large Tanto (6" Blade 10.75 OAL) Inspection. The rating is based on my inspection. I by no means am an expert. I do not think these knives were used (except fondling). They certainly were not abused. Knifemaker: Tilton Bowen

• Overall 8.5/10
• Sheath: 7/10
  • scuffs and scrapes probable could be reduced with treating the leather.
• Handle (Pakkawood) 6/10
  • A few of minor scuffs / light scratches
  • Along the butt of the handle there are 2 chips (1/8" x 1/16") This is the reason why I rated the handle so low. Pictures included. Note all three are the same area just at different zoom levels. Probably could be resolved by putting an edge bevel on the butt of the knife (like the sides already have). This is on the Bowen Blades Stamp side (not the TB stamp side).
• Blade (Edge) 9.0/10
  • no dents or nicks. The edge polish appears to have some variations. I think a light sharpening / stropping would resolve.
  • Tip is pristine
• Blade (non edge surface) 9/10
  • The D2 has a nice uniform patina to it. The blade is ~3/16" at the spine.
  • No dings dents or scratches Visible.
  • All engraving very sharp.

Large Bowie (Standard Wide) (9" Blade Length; OAL: 14") The rating is based on my inspection. I by no means am an expert. I do not think these knives were used (except fondling). They certainly were not abused. Knife Maker: Tilton Bowen

• Overall 9.5/10 (If expecting D2 without "patina" then it would drop in condition.
• Sheath: 8/10
  • No Tears or cracks
  • All 'nail' or rivets tight (Brass nails have green oxidation).
  • Scuffs are visible
  • scuffs probable could be fixed with treating the leather.
• Handle (Pakkawood) 9/10
  • I small 1/32" x 1/32" Blemish in the back of the handle
• Blade (Edge) 9.9/10
  • no dents or nicks.
  • If user sharpened, it was done right (not by me )
  • Since such a large knife easy to see tip is pristine
• Blade (non edge surface) 9.9/10
  • The D2 has a nice uniform patina to it and is ~1/4" thick at the spine!
  • No dings dents or scratches Visible.
  • All engraving very sharp.
