For Sale: CRK Unique Graphic FLAG Original Sebenza. This is one of my oldest sebenzas. It was carried over the years and when I had to send a small 21 into the spa, I sent this one in also to bring back its old beauty. As always, the CRK spa is amazing and made it look new again. This is an Original Sebenza and was made between 1991-1996. No blade scale date codes as accurate for the time, they came later. This is Very similar to the P Sebenza which we see from time to time, but this does not have the P marking and has the old style straight clip that CRK began implementing at that time. The flag graphic was considered a unique graphic at that time and was the precursor to the Stars and Stripes CGG Of Regular Sebenza fame. Only time I have seen one like this was the pair I seen with medallions on them. Blade is ATS-34. Has a few pit marks that you see on ats-34. The thumb stud is also quite different. It’s not like The hand cut studs you saw on the P sebenzas and it’s not like what we see now, it’s kinda inbetween. The hollow grind on the blade was ground about 1/16” off, so if you look at the blade to see if it’s centered in the frame, it’s looks off center, but it isn’t. When the knife is opened, it’s very hard to see unless your looking, but needed to mention it. The blade is very unique in that the hollow grind is finely stone washed but the blade flats are hand polished. Only one I have ever seen like this. At this time, Chris was still tinkering with perfection which he surely achieved with the Sebenza design. The original box and paperwork are long gone, but CRK gave me a new BD card and older thin box as part of the spa treatment. In all my years of CRK buying, I have only seen about 1/2 dozen Original Sebenzas and this is one of em. Definitely a rare piece of CRK history. If you want a 100% Mint “Original Sebenza”, this one is not it. I havent carried it in years, so am passing it on to someone that can help fill that void in their collection. If it had all original paperwork and was mint, it would go for quite a bit more, but I am offering it at what I feel is a very fair price for.
