Jim, thanks for your vote of confidence. I'm sorry to disappoint you but, to quote General Sherman,
"If nominated, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve." I wouldn't be able to dedicate the time necessary to moderate a forum, particularly one as busy as FS. Also, frankly, I don't see the need for a moderator there.
IMO, there are some material issues that arise from time to time but the majority of complaints that are being voiced -- and I agree with most of them -- pertain to mere annoyances. Overall, I feel that the BF community does a very good job of being self-policing.
I don't think I'm being naive when I say that most folks on BF want to do the right thing. In some cases, though, individuals may not be aware of the conduct that is expected. This is where I feel that some standard guidelines could be very useful.
As I mentioned yesterday, the draft document that I prepared focused on the transactional aspects of buying & selling. It doesn't address the related issues of posting etiquette, adequate packaging, etc. Although I won't agree to be a moderator, what I will do this weekend is to try to expand the discussion draft to cover these areas.
