i know this was brought up once before but here goes again.

how about we busse buyers, sellers and collectors try to leave the prices up on the for sale board after the deal is done?

it would be a great info base for us looking for the fair and current value of the busse we are selling or hoping to buy.

just a thought :)

I am OK with that, however I am guilty of editing the prices of some other knives that have sold........I will fix that. :)

Cerberus

Fixed! Prices added back in.

It is a good suggestion, but some people will still not want to do this, as a matter of privacy.
I generally don't care that much unless they take the price down before the deal is done, if there's any disagreement, you don't have any way to reference the original price.

A good idea, I have done this from the begining.

On the other hand daily note taking has helped let me know trends.

I brought this up once in GBU and everyone dogpiled on me. It's not like you are putting up the price after the fact of a private deal.

I really don't see how leaving an ad unedited is an invasion of privacy.

On behalf of the Hog High council and its elders I absolutely refuse to do so without prejudice!

Part of the fun of owning INFI is watching it appreciate. It's really nice to know that even though I paid about $80 more for my BA-E than it's original purchaser, I can still make a $20 profit if I sold it tomorrow. Or I can beat it up and break even. It makes owning INFI affordable in the long run.

HUH?

That is an excelent idea. Why would you edit the price of the knife to SOLD after it is no longer available?

I think maybe someone should start and maintain a database. nothing complicated, just someone to keep a eye on the boards and on ebay.

I'm thinking of a spreadsheet in excel that would track and chart these sales. Post the charts on mojo?

I'd be willing to give it a shot if people would be willing to supply me with data of their past sales to start. I could set up a special e-mail address and keep it confidential.

I would need to know:
model
sheath yes or no
condition
bought when
price when bought
sold when
price when sold
and other things I'm sure...

Wow...it just got complicated :D :D

Let me know what you think...

i to am guilty of editing out my final price and wished i hadn't. i don't think it's a biggy, everybody knows the price posted anyway. it would just make a better data base and an easy search to find the trend.

2 yrs ago... we should keep on this. It's a great idea and would benefit us all

Huh?!? (Copyright Skunk)

I know this is mentioned in the other thread, but felt reviving this one would be more beneficial and seen by more people :)

So deal with it.... Yah fluggin' porkers ;) :D

ive removed some and left some.

ill leave pics and prices up from now on unless requested to remove the price by the buyer.

I go through the for sale forum a couple of times a day and copy and paste for sale posts into a "prices" file. Unless they edit the prices immediately I seldom miss the prices.

:D:D

Well you all know that I'm on board on this.

I don't understand the privacy thing. You sell a knife on a public forum - what's privacy about????

I got no problem with that! I start to remove price off because I have seen a lot other are doing it. I thought was a Busse thing to keep sales price private. From Now on, I'll remember and change it.

The problem is.......I got NO INFI TO SELL!!!! I love my current set so much!!

:D
