Nice blade!
Is it made to be functional/used?

I'm not familiar with 50HF/6145. I've read it can be used for gears or springs depending on heat treatment and hardening. Can you talk a little more about what you were aiming for in terms of blade properties?

hello. Yes I made it to be functional.
6150/50HF is so called sword steel in Europe. Its very tough. Albion Swords use it. And most medieval reenactment swords/sabers in Europe are made from it.
My blade is made for cutting mostly with 17degree angle of cutting edge (34 overall). Not super hard but hard enough for a sword i think about 55-5Rc. So it should be plenty tough as well. It was double tempered, spine was tempered with a burner.
But I must confess that is my first blade of such length and geometry. Im not so experienced on the sword field:) It is fast and has a good balance in my opinion, but again, Im rather knife maker than sword smith:).
Anyway I would be happy to won one like that:)
Kind regards

6150 along with 5160 (very very similiar) is one of the best steels for swords, with proper geometry and tempering of course. Through hardened steel swords are usually around 50 to 52 HRC, a sword is no knife which require different properties. A lot of custom sword makers use this steels, arms and armor, lockwood, tinker pearce, angus trim, albion, ...

Nice blade!

Beautiful piece and great price. Is there a sheath of some sort included, or could one be made?

Nice blade, very cool idea at the ricasso/plunge lines, almost like a pseudo habaki. Great work!
