Do people actually answer spam?
I mean really ... you get an email selling this or that (usually with a deceptive title to get past spam filters, etc.) and what, you give them a credit card number?
I have a hard time believing spam actually works as a sales tool. Talk about the lowest-common denominator!

sadly, there are always stupid people, if one in 5 million people respond to the message, and you get $1000 (yes people do shell out this much, on the nigerian money order scam I read the average profit from someone who believes it was something on the order of $20,000) from each one and you send out 500,000,000 (which isnt hard with an automated program) of them, that's a profit of $100,000 right there. and there are WAY more stupid people than 1 in 5 million
