Kiyoshi Kato has more than 50 years of experience, he and his knives are at the top of Japanese kitchen knives along with Shigefusa Both are equals at the top. I managed to acquire this one but I would have been equally happy with a Shigefusa. I wont go into more detail as prospective buyers know what they are looking at.
I may choose to keep this one, depends. In harsh light, there are some light scuffs on the blade if you try to find them, it came that way. Its not a problem and is typical as Kiyoshi Kato is function over form.
