It always amazes me when I pick up a SOG Seal Team, Seki, Japan, it has strength. The handle is bigger, and the blade seem to have more heft. Might be the AUS 6 used in Seki, Japan model, verses the SOG Seal Team Taiwan has AUS 8 steel. The Seki, Japan knife has a different way about it and I also have a Seal Team Taiwan in my nightstand and like it as well. Seki, Japan is just a better knife.
This knife has been used and sharpened and it just beginning to get character. Plenty of steel on this blade. The nylon sheath is solid and allows a person to wear it on either side. This is the ultimate for an Urban - Out Bag, or survival carry as it passed the rigorous trials it was subjected to.
The SOG SEAL 2000 is a 7" bladed fixed blade knife with a rubber handle that was designed for the US Navy SEAL knife trials in 1992. The knife was manufactured from 1995 to 2007 for SOG by Kinryu of Seki Japan. Knives such as these and many of the SOG models produced prior to the shift of production from Seki, Japan to Taiwan are the best knives SOG had ever made.
