For Sale:

10,000 cans of beef stew, 1600 cases of MREs and 500,000 rounds of 7.62 x 39 (black helicopter armor piercing) that I've been storing in my reinforced bunker awaiting Y2K and martial law.

I listened to all the shortwave broadcasts. I thought the end of the world was coming...what do I do now?

In all seriousness:

In my thinking now comes the dangerous part, especially from the domestic nutcase, wannabe terrorist side of things.

There's probably a lot of folks who got 'all dressed up with no place to go,' and are feeling a little depressed and bored that all Hell didn't break loose. Bored folk can be dangerous folk so I think the coming year may prove to be interesting.

Unfortunatly you could be on to something Jeff, in visiting other boards and seeing what people were writing I asked this very question a while back, and the answers were just a bit disturbing. Seeing what has been written on some this morning makes me beleive there are more than just a few disappointed people that the world did not end last night.

The only domestic danger left is if the gov't flunks out the SSI, welfare and other gov't checks for a month or two. If that happens, the inner cities could get fairly ugly fairly FAST.

We'll see some weird billing glitches over the next few weeks and months but in the more stable areas they'll be just "laugh it off" type stuff. Like the guy who got billed for a 100-year late video rental...

Problems and fraud in Russia and similar could increase; further fragmentation could lead us into Somalia-esque foreign "adventures", especially since there could be stray nukes floating around in any such stew. To me, that's the biggest worry.
