This will be my first post. I have looked around on this forum a ton. Seems like it is full of really cool people. So onto my first thread. If you had to choose 2 busse knives for users, what would they be and why? Sorry if there is already a similar post. I checked around but couldn't find one. Thanks to everyone that posts in advance. POST ON!!! Go crazy hope to get a ton of feedback. I don't own any infi yet, but plan to start being crazy about it like the rest of you. Just from all the browsing I would say NMFBM and something smaller to compliment the beast. I guess you can choose 3 if you have to ;).

Kind of hard to say as personal preference is a big factor.
For what I find myself using fixed blades for I would go with an AD or SAR3 for a smaller knife and a SAR 4 or 6 for a larger knife (love the convex grind on them).
I do not find myself really ever needing anything bigger than a 5 to 6 in blade.
I do really want a BM and SAR 8 though.

Welcome to the MADNESS!!!

From my knives, my favorite combo as of late is my CGFBM and SARSquatch.

Maybe the Basic 11 instead of the CGFBM if weight is a factor...

However, for a new guy, I would order a BOSS Jack from Busse direct right now and wait a few months for the Basic 10 and Basic 4 to come out and buy those as well... All your bases would be covered and you dont have to pay aftermarket prices...

This is a VERY good time to be a newcomer to Busse.

Oh yeah: you have been warned - the INFI bug bites hard :D :D :D

small/medium blade -- my mUK LE
big blade - BM-e (one of these days) or the upcoming Ash-whacker 9.5

NMSFNO and the MUK.

But, the Ashwhacker does have great ergos and potential, but hard telling when, or if, they will be released.

B11 - for me the best performance / weight Busse chopper and my all-out favorite Busse
CABSLE - small, relatively thin, decent ergos

Combined, a lightweight all-capability package.

The two I go to the most are my Basic 11 and my CABSLE. The Basic 4 might steal the show, but we'll see...:)

I to am an FNG, just here for 3 months. In that time I have learned a tremendous amount, primarily about steel. You will find many opinions here and all have valid points. Whatever models you chose, I suggest making it a user. You will know quickly if you like it and if the ergos fit. Also, you will never lose more than a few dollars(shipping and paypal fee's) if you decide you do not like it and want to sell. As far as models I would condsider a Mean Street Small Choil Combat Grade($275ish) . I have one and it turned me onto the CABS which is awesome. I found I do not like a choil on anything under a 5" blade. Maybe run down to a store and locate a larger more easily availabe commercial knife from more commercial with aa choil and handle it. I wish I had before I bought a SAR6 as I am selling it soon due to the choil The ergo make a hige difference if you intend to use the knife. I love my CABS, but am waiting on ROM pricing from the custom shop to have a handle put on that is similar in size to my SAR5 since I love handle on it and my Regulator. I have not found a need yet for a chopper and am using the Regulator for that role with out any complaints.

clearly I can neither type or spell correctly.................. possible should invest in a decent laptop as typing on a tablet with meat paws is not working

If I could have 1 it would be the MOASH (Mother of All Steel Hearts) shy of that a HOGFSH (Heavy Ordinance Grade Fusion Steel Heart) There are SO many smaller blades out now, you practically have your pick of them.

Or a Straight Handle Battle Mistress and Badger Attack.....either the Generation III or Straight Handle.

Meah...For a Busse user it starts and ends with Res-C handle. Not as expensive as full tang choppers and are just as capable.
So, look at the line of new and old Basics, for starters, and go from there.

Best of luck.

Welcome to the forums, enjoy!:thumbup::)

Small: ABS

Medium: SAR-6, Satin/BOSS Jack or Hell Razor (I probably would say a NO of some type, but I’ve never owned a Natural Outlaw):o:( - but I'm destined to own one sometime :) - possibly my next knife depending on what model Jerry puts up.

Large: BWM-LE or pretty much any BM

Thank for all the quick feedback. Does anyone have a idea of the actual next busse release date and what it will be? sounds like the basic line up, which would be awesome. Whatever I get will be a user. Eye candy is nice but I feel such a great piece of steel should be used and admired not just admired. Different strokes for different folks. If the basic line is next I will probably go with what trail wolf suggested and pick me up a boss jack, basic 10, and basic 4. I'm leaning towards a muk in the future for field dressing. Man there is so many great options only time will tell. I'm a hunting and outdoors guy so I want to put these babies to work. I just hope I make the right choice since I only plan on getting 4 or 5 users. Great feedback keep em coming.

The only person who knows that is Jerry...

But, as the BJ's have been up for roughly 4 months, I hope to see something new within the next month or so. Possibly a Ganza in the meantime though (one can always hope & dream).

Tough choice to narrow it down to 2.

I carry my BAD the most. Love the handle and profile of the CABS even more, but don't carry it as much as I would if it was shorter.

The B11 is probably the most useful, best bang for the buck and power to weight ratio.

If you don't want a bigger chopper, I do love my SarQ as well. For a mid sized user it is great. Taller blade, not too thick, handle that you can move your hand around on. (the SFNO also is a great mid sized, but I don't remember there being as thin of a version, at least regular production).
