For the busse users

My 2 most used Busses are: CGFBM and DSF. I carry my Sar3 alot but I rotate it in with my izula and folders. IMO INFI shows its superiority in the bigger knives.

If 3: Bushwhacker BM, Skinny ASH, Active Duty/Boss St...If 2, probably a NMSFNO and Active Duty. If 1, probably a new Basic 6 or Skinny ASH.

Drbarnes, in your opinion, why doesn't infi show it superiority in the smaller blades? Or if anyone agrees with his reponse feel free to chime in.

INFI is extremely tough and takes the abuse which is normally what one would do with a big chopper. On a smaller blade it depends on what you want out of the blade. It does not have the best edge retaining ability but conversely it is very easy to sharpen and tends not to chip or break. I like it in smaller blades too. I think one of the most important parts about any Busse or kin is that Jerry has an amazing heat treat. Making any knife from Busse absolutely amazing in my opinion. I like a good balance in the steel's properties and INFI has just that. So unless I plan to go out and cut manilla rope all day smaller Busse knives are great for me. :)

Oinkalibers 1,2, & 3, maybe 4 :)

AK sword is Oinkaliber 1
NMFBM is 2
BWM is 3
and HACK is 4

Right now I'm lovin' my BWM and my NMSFNO... and my Ratmandu. Sorry... I couldn't just go with two.

I think that in small blades, which I dont tend to use as hard as choppers there are other steels that hold an edge well and I am not worried about breaking. Dont get me wrong, I love my sar3 but if it was down to just 2 pieces of INFI they would be larger blades.

So as far as smaller blades go, what steel would have better edge retention? Drbarnes, what would you use a smaller blade for that would make you worried about breaking it? Once again thnx for all the feedback. I seem to see alot of people saying NMSFNO. I'm going to look into that blade right now and see what it's all about. Good day all.

I am not saying Busse's small blades are not good, INFI is my favorite blade steel from large to small. I guess I am trying to say that INFI separates itself from the pack more in large hard use blades. If I could only have 2 they would be my big bad CGFBM convexed chopper because it chops and batons great, plus the corrugated blade just looks bada$$, and the nimble DSF this knife feels like an extension of my hand and while it does not look as cool as some other blades it is all about function. I know that anything I would need to do with a knife could get done with these.

The NMSFNO is a sweet blade, and I have had my heart set on getting one but with the Basic 8 coming out this year I am more interested in picking one of those up.
