I am very new to collecting knifes. I have always had knives always but never new what they were made of all the jargon that goes along with it. Anyway the question i have is, lately i have heard a few people talking about their liner locks being at the end of their life???? Does this mean after so much time and wear theat it just gives and the knife is done???? If someone could explain this it would be great.

As the lock wears, it will travel further and further across the blade tang, until it contacts the other liner. When that happens, there is no more room for wear, and blade play can develop. Either the liner needs to be replaced, or someone with the skill, like STR, can peen the end to give it some more life.

The folder is'nt, "done", but it may start to develop blade play.
