Photos For the love of Lockbacks! (Traditionals only)

Haha I asked the same question. It's a Boker Boxer. Good looking knife for sure. Desert ironwood on that one, they also come in black micarta.
I just checked these out.
They certainly are not giving them away, $200 +
How do you like yours?

I actually don't have the pleasure of owning one. My Canadian vendor is charging quite a lot more than US/UK, so I haven't bought one yet.

Not much for reviews on this model yet.

- they're a fine, fine folder.........for sure.

The handle is nicely contoured and feels good in the hand, I don't like 'em much when they're too slim.

Yes, a shade under $200, but that's Des-Ir and dovetail bolsters don't forget...

I'm guessing, but I doubt they'll make many more of these, so perhaps get one now..?

They look really good. French designer. No nail Nick, pinchable.
Just a bit too pricey for me, I think. For just a bit over that price I can get a lockback in Damascus steel, something my collection is lacking.

- understood, and as always, each to their own desires and subjectivity

Getting something in damascus steel is not as potentially difficult as getting a Des-Ir Boker Boxer if they stop making 'em...! ;):) Great shame you and I don't live in the same country - I'd send it through for you to have a play otherwise.

Wow
You're too kind. I'd enjoy that but my wallet would be in sad shape after as I'd probably pick one up (do you work for the company, lol!).
Thanks again. So many knives, so little dinero

Now I'm interested to hear more about these Damascus lockbacks.

A couple have caught my eye.
The Boker Mamba has a Damascus version in bog oak. It's very expensive $300+ and a little large, a bit over 4" closed.
The blade is stainless hand-forged ladder Damascus by Chad Nichols from the USA ( I guess it's kinda rare or limited edition).
It tickles this knife-knut's blade receptors.

Another is the Moki Clio in desert ironwood. A more EDC size and is closer in price to the Boker Boxer we were looking at yesterday.
A very pleasing piece with some abalone at the rear bolster

I haven't had the pleasure of handling either of these. If someone owns one I'd be curious to hear your impressions.

Good eye! You and I have similar tastes. I've been pondering that bog oak Damascus for a long time now.

I wasn't able to find much on it either. I've probably watched the promo vid on it a couple of dozen times tho.

Browning Citori, 440C

Who made that Browning? It looks to be very well made. The blade grind is exceptional.

I couldn't resist either. Very nice knife.

I haven't handled either, but, based on my experience with Moki, the fit and finish on that Clio will be first class.

I had a Moki Calliope that was very similar to the Clio in your post. It was a tight knife and very well constructed. I only sold it because at the time it was too fancy for me to carry.
