Wow! You reminded me I own a lighter very similar to yours. Mine needs the insides of the fuel cartridge rebuilt. Any idea how to do that? Or where to get materials from?

ETA: The story behind this particular lighter.
Just before I was born, my grandfather died at age 44. My parents told me that he was so excited to meet me, but passed before he could do so. This lighter was in the box of things he left me.
When I finally was old enough to get the lighter he left me, the fuel cartridge stuff had all but disintegrated.
My grandfather, Maxwell, was an avid outdoorsman and had a very healthy respect for nature. He passed that on to my father, who in turn passed it down to me.
I sure would love to have this lighter functional again. R.I.P.

a friend gave me that lighter 10 years ago. I have not seen one for sale before but believe it’s a imco triplex lighter 6700

You would be right. I just got mine out and looked on the bottom...(why didnt i think of that?) Says IMCO Triplex Made In Austria. Thank you.
I think its just a wick and cotton batting that goes in the fuel department...gonna do some more digging for information...
This particular lighter is over 40 years old!!

I have used parts for a zippo for mine the past. Should work for you!

IMCO triplex lighter. They are no longer in production. Imco is closed now
unfortunately. Take care of it, great design but brittle, none of those i've owned has lasted more than 6 years.

Dan.

I've said it quite a few times in this thread, but I just cant help it. I REALLY wish Kershaw and Gerber would revisit some of their earlier stuff. Awesome knives guys:thumbsup::thumbsup:
The only knife I can remember losing was a small Gerber lockback that I carried for years. Great little knife. I think it must have fallen out of my pocket while I was getting out of my vehicle. Replaced it with a Case lookalike, though.
