For the price of the gun, the blade should be better...

Alright, so the Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum comes with a Smith and Wesson knife. Fair enough. But the blade it comes with is Chinese... for a $1000 gun, I would hope for more...

On the third picture, if you look close, it says 'Hammer Forged Surgical China'

Bah humbug to that. But I guess many people have paid more for just the gun without any extras.

Does anyone have any other stories of something they bought that came with a knife (good or bad?)

Yeah, no kidding. It has a nice feel and all (solid, ergonomic), but it's still a bit shameful.

To heck with the cheesy knife - where can you get an S&W .500 Magnum for a kilobuck?? Which barrel length is it - and what distributor carries it??

Seriously, that's cheap... in more ways than one!

Not sure if I can list the seller, but you can search for 'purchase Smith & Wesson 500', and you can actually find them a bit cheaper than that with free shipping.

To hell with the knife, show use a pic of the S&W! **Sorry didn't see the pic above,** way cool shooter!

Yeah, that 500 is a great gun. Surprisingly fun (not a burden) to shoot, too. But it's crazy expensive to buy ammo for it.

I'm buying the gun, I never expect whatever junk they throw into these typical "specials" to be of any quality or value.

The only reason I see to even keep the knife is so you can include it as part of selling the gun.

I got a free SAK for spending some money at one of the knife retailers. They made it "special" for me.

Its funny that Smith And Wesson would let their name be associated with S**T:(

I gotta tell you, I have no idea. I will have to take a closer look when I get home.

Pistol retention lanyards.

As for the OP - to be fair, if the knife was better, you'd have ended up paying $100-200 more. If you have to have a gun knife combo, look at the Les Baer Emerson offering.
