For the TRUE HOGS:

Guys (and gals) If you get one of these AND CARRY IT, be advised that in some jurisdictions it is highly illegal. Oh and don't even think about trying to smuggle it through TSA checkpoints. That WILL get you in trouble.

BUT as a last ditch, i LIKE IT!

Now if they would just make one in a Krambit style... :)

In Minnesota, as long as I have no "intent to harm others" with it, I'm good.

Thanks though for the heads up

Completely agree on your TSA point.

But what would make this highly illegal in some jurisdictions?

What are these even worth these days and when were they released? Seems very little info on them.

I picked one up for Monte a couple years ago. Real cool piece from Busse, kind of regret selling it.

Non INFI Busses are the best :)

Looks like g10 or carbon fiber. Non metallic prevents metal detectors from locating it

California law doesn't care what it is made of. If it is undetectable and capable of bodily injury it is illegal. Undetectable by standard metal detector or magnetometer.

It is claimed that the ONLY reason to carry a knife that won't show up on any kind of metal scan it to use it as a weapon. Some folks I have heard have hit it or one like it in their ties and then all it takes is one cop, one "Jurisdiction" that is anti anything to protect yourself... Oh an "Visitors" have tried to smuggle "Non Metallic" blades into incarceration facilities before. I DO know this for a fact.

I mean let's be honest; other than avoiding detection by a metal detector or whatever and feeling super tacticool what would be the purpose of carrying a knife like this? It really has no advantage except maybe slight weight over a standard metal knife.

It's definitelu awesome but definitely not worth risking getting in trouble carrying one of these.

Very cool collector piece though.

I believe I saw these for sale YEARS AGO in the old Shomer-Tec catalog.

Correct.

What is it? A composite blade?

Yes.

As M67 mentioned above it is made from something called MP45. Searching never turned up any reference to that material, except in the context of a Busse thread, so I could never figure out exactly what it was made with, nor any outside explanation for Jerry's mention that something about it was 'banned' or removed from the market for EPA reasons.
