For those always asking about pocketable knives have you ever considered a slipjoint?

I too have recently been on a slippy kick. Or traditional knives in general I still carry a one hand tactical because you never know what might happen but I have been carrying a traditional knife as my user. This little gem of a warncliff is tonight's edc. Not technically a slippy because it locks but same line of thought.

That's a blade shape I definitely would like to try. I'm just hoping folks draw more attention to the less is more ethos and share their experiences with using thin bladed slipjoints!

I recently started carrying an old schrade usa stockman and am appreciating the multiple blades. At work, I use the sheepsfoot for packages and the main for food.

I'm moving inbetween. I am getting a small traditional stag handled lockback. Like a Brian Lyttle( from the movie "The Edge"). I like not having my knife float in my pocket and I like one hand open, but I don't have to have those.

I have no doubts that thin cuts best, but when I was young I lost every slip-joint that entered my pocket. They slid right back out. I found a knife with a quick-disconnect lanyard and recently one with a pocket-clip and I have not lost a knife in 20 years.

I have done a little research but pocket sheaths and cumbersome lanyards seem to be the only option. :( I have seen a few attractive slip-joints with pocket-clips though. Been dreaming about one of them for months. Still weighing my options and keeping an open mind. :)

I've got one stockman that i carry on occasion. Usually if i leave my one handers at home in favor of fixed blades for the day, my stockman will accompany them.

I've had a few from the Swiss army type to a traditional Chinese folder,of all of them probably my favorite is the Stainless Douk-Douk I got almost nine years ago.

I am not a fan of the stockmans, canoes and what have you I always avoided knives as a kid when that was all that was available just not to my taste.
