I am almost daily torn between which I like to use/carry better - Seb or Strider.
So, I'd like to hear from others that have both for their thoughts as well.

Which do you use/carry more and why? please be specific to the model(s) - if you don't mind :)

Personally, I can't decide which I like to use or carry better, a Large Regular Sebenza or a Strider Gen 6 Drop point.

To add a little depth to this:
Feel free to bash/praise only if you own one (or have owned one). For those who are lokking at buying from one of these manufactures, I'd like this to be a thread they can get owner feed back on, and not just rants from those with unfounded opinions.

Thanks,

I used to occaisonally carry a Eddie Baca customized PT. It was a great knife and super sturdy. But it still was not as smooth and easily to use as a sebenza. I never adapted to the strider handle shape either, the but always hit me right in the palm.

I have two Sebs and two Striders. I use the Sng on a fairly regular basis, the Seb rarely, if at all. Both feel good in the hand. I guess it's because the SnG can do everything a Seb can, but the Seb can't really do everything the Strider can do (or at least, I wouldn't allow it ;) )

Dave H, know what you mean about the PT hitting you in the palm, It never really bothers me unless I am whittling, the Sng feels a lot better, if you ever want to give it a shot. Fills your hand well.

Cockroach, Curious to know What kind of cutting / other uses would you do with your Strider, but not with your Seb?

I feel the same way, but not sure why, I'd think with dual Ti slabs on the Seb vs almost half Ti / almost 3/4 G10 on the Strider , the seb would give me more confidence, maybe the hollow ground gives me hesitance.

The Only thing I did once with a Strider that I would have never done with the seb (up until that point anyway) was dig a root out where I was doing some gardening.. (Silly I know) but never hesitated with the Strider.

I've had a Sebenza, SnG and SMF, and I would pick the Sebenza. If you like those 3, also check out the ZT 0300.

I've had 3 Sebenzas, and own 1 Strider (a GB)- though I've handled both the SNG and SMF. If given a choice, I'd have chosen the SNG/SMF because of the secure grip. As it was, both were a little too thin for me, so I'm glad I got the GB. In a weird bit of irony, though, I find the Buck/Mayo 172 to be quite perfect for most of my uses. Even though its just as thin as a Sebenza, and THINNER than the SNG/SMF, the holes give just the right amount of grip without added bulk.

Since you have both, I'd alternate and try to make up your mind after some uses. Or, you could do this: Flip a coin. No, I'm serious!

Have someone flip a coin, with the idea that you won't carry the one that loses for some specific amount of time (say, 6 months). Then pay attention when the flip happens. More likely than not you'll have one that you really want to win. Carry that one.

ETA: I no longer have a Sebenza and probably won't be buying another- unless I can find one with the birth date of either 10-8-03 or 10-27-04. THAT is for reasons other than knives though (the former is my daughter's birthday, and the latter is the night the Red Sox won the World Series).

Dress slacks - Sebenza
Blue jeans - Strider

Sometimes, that what it comes down to. They are both fantastic, both excellently crafted, but the Sebenza is for when I am dressed up, the Strider is for when I am not.

I carry my sebbie to work and to church etc. If I am gonna go camping I use my SNG or other knife. My sebbie's see more edc work as they are more sheeple friendly and many people like my unique graphic sebbies and inquire rather than shy away.

I like them both, my sng has play, I have had 2 SNG's and both have had this but I am lazy and wont send it into strider. I feel a little more confident beating on my SNG though and its taken alot of abuse. My Small leather, which I edc along with an unique graphic see alot of standard cutting. I edc alot of different knives but these two get in the rotation alot. The SNG just does not fit in with my computer based workplace but does on my farm. It handles well with leather gloves and has seen alot of bailing rope and a hodge podge of other things. I have not really had a problem with either knife.

I am sure my sebbie will take alot of punishment but I like to keep em kinda clean. I say it depends on where you work and what your going to do with them. If your like me and work in a business setting, maybe a sebbie would be more for you. If your not worried about it you could go with the strider. Just my opinion from what I have experienced, they are both great knives.

I cary a CRK Mnandi in my shirt pocket , and a SNG , SMF , or PT on the belt , or pocket clipped .
