For those of you who didn't like the pack knife scales.

Looks pretty cool shotgunner!

Though I like the orange, I'd like to change the texture on the handles.
They are just not grippy enough.
Anyone got some tips how to make them little bit less slippery?

Thanks in advance

I would say remove them and take them somewhere that could hit them with a media blaster for you. A machine shop could do it.

Just make sure that the person doing it isn't a complete dipstick. You could easily remove too much in one spot and you wouldn't want to do much on the edges.

Or some course grit sandpaper would work, just not look as clean.

Very functional and I really like that. Only 199 left...as soon as # 201 is available I'll have one to functionalize myself, but I know, don't hold your breath.

You might be able to take a soldering iron or wood burning iron and add some texture. When done properly, it looks good and adds texture.

Here you can see some examples of stippled gun parts.

I don't care for the color myself but the free-form sanding you did on the scales looks very organic.

Those scales are badass, really cool work.

Nice!! Looks very "Busse like"!

Way to stand out in the pack my man!!!

My thoughts exactly, really reminds me of Busse styling, intentional or not. And just in case its a bit unclear, even though I don't have or desire Busse knives, that's a compliment.

That looks really good. I don't care for the bright orange scales on some knives but I like the brown-ish orange you came up with.

Is the RC3 mil thicker than a regular RC3? if not what is the difference?

Thanks.

The RC-3mil is the same thickness. Difference is the logos, handle material, sharpened glass breaker and the full sheathing loadout with the molle back, clips, bootclip and all the hardwear.

It's the "best buy" for the RC-3.

I like it.

While I do like the orange scales myself because my thoughts are that they look more "hunterish" and not that I'm trying to hide anything. With safety orange, I hope to lessen the worry of the sheeple.

Still, darn nice work Shotgunner

Great looking mod to the scales! It certainly improved upon the ORANGE scales (I had to check with OHSA and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to see if I was required to wear a Blaze Orange vest and cap while using the knife)!
