---For those that carry a few knives---

If I am at work, I will wear my MOD Razorback in but I take it off on the clock and switch to my Ti-Lite or Kershaw Vapor:( .
If I am in street clothes, it goes anywhere from my BlackJack 5 Suby to the MOD RazorBack and most recently my new Voss fighter. There is usually a combo of a fixed and folder at work and 3 fixed with a folder in street clothes.

Although I have a Michigan concealed weapons permit, I only make use of that when hunting (carrying my firearm in a shoulder rig, sometimes under my jacket or game vest). I feel most safe with a knife. I carry a Walther Allied forces with the clip in the tip up position, either in a jacket pocket or in my jeans hip pocket, clip on the outside. Works for me, just another man's opinion.

And please.... no jokes about taking a knife to a gun fight.

Not a joke, here, but I am trying to understand something...
You obviously know that some people might find your statement odd, given than you request "no jokes." Why do you feel "most safe with a knife" when, I think many here will agree, a firearm (particularly a handgun) is a far more efficient and effective weapon for dealing with a single human threat: requiring far less training and practice to deal with the threat than a knife would, and not requiring nearly the proximity of defender to attacker?

We know that the sheeple are quite fond of their "feelings": they love to "feel" safe and do stupid things to help shore up that "feeling," but we all know that things like bans and "gun-free school zones" are feel-good crap. What do you say about the difference between your "feeling" safer with a knife than with a gun, and actually "being" safer with one or the other?

Don't want to stir up trouble or anything. I'm genuinely just curious.

By the way, my EDC is usually a Cold Steel Spike neck knife and a Spyderco FRN combo edge Delica. And yes, I do carry a concealed handgun.

I can't speak for Shots@Night, but not everyone has the attitude, determination and disposition required to carry a gun all the time.

It's an enormous responsibility, and while a gun might very well save your life, used carelessly it has the capacity to land you in an inescapable legal tar pit, or an extended stay in the graybar lodge. And "careless use" often varies depending on locale and the attitudes of prosecutors and LEO's.

Without the proper training and mindset, many are better off leaving the gun at home. I wouldn't be too quick to criticize that decision.

No doubt, a gun in capable hands is a vastly superior defensive tool, but without the required mindset it can be a liability. The same could be said for edged weapons, but as "tools" they generally get more legal wiggle room than guns.
