I have an izula and it needs a new friend. I wanted to know if i should get the 5 or 6. It would be used for batoning and possible camp tasks and chopping. Thanks for your help.

I also would go for the 6 more than the 5. The 6 has longer length and less weight overall.

Putting an Esee 6 up to a 5 in what is or has a bit more bang for what it is, I would take the 6 anyday. Lighter, longer, has a choil and jimping for doing small carving, thiner ( but still Very Very strong) so filet of fish is an easy job. I really can't see any reason to pick a 5 over a 6. This is my thoughts on what I would pick. Oh and I own a 6 :D enjoy edgy

I think we should start a "6 PACK" what do ya'll think?

Another for the 6. The 5 is great and will do anything you put it to, with a little practice. But the 6 is a better overall utility/camp knife in my opinion. I am extremely happy with mine and would buy it again in a heartbeat. Good luck!

Both great knives. I had to get both. If I'm carrying the 5 ,I usually bring my 3 for the fine stuff. The 6 can cover everything. It's 3/16" thickness and extra length gives it an advantage over the 5 for general use, IMO.

right now, I'm edc'ing the 5, what the hell break to mold and everything else. get the 5!!!!!!

i traded my 6 for a 5 and really like the 5 so far. i liked the 6 but the 5 seems to suit me better. i prefer the heavier blade. i always have a smaller knife for precise work.

If it comes down to just having one of them? I would reach for the 6 almost every time when heading into the bush.

6 is the way to go. Plenty tough and thinner and lighter than the 5 so slicing would be easier with the 6. I love my RC6

I wish i could handle them before I buy one. My problem is there isn't a retailer near me that has them and I don't know anyone who owns them.

The 5 is a great knife, but for most camp chores, I prefer the 6. The 5 is an excellent blade though. Check out the pass around review sticky at the top of the page.

Just ordered the 6 its on its way now. One day I will get the 5 but I have the 6 for now.
Very wize choice. You will be shocked at how well its made, and watch your fingers, cuz they are very sharp, and even after you use them a bit, you may think its dull, but it will for the most part still bit ya, cuz its still a shaver. You willbe back with some pics and a post of what you did with it I bet.
I think we should have a ESEE 6 PACK what ya'll think?
Edgy
