Fordite

Trust me, no one will want to dive in then Elizabeth River. They have cleaned it up a lot over the years, buy anything dumped 75-100 years ago is in toxic slime deep under the bottom. I doubt you can legally dig/dredge/etc. in it.

And that, is why they made them quit 😂

I’m super curious to see your final project. When contemplating these types of things, I say always be brave enough to try new things. That resonates with most knife makers. There’s really not much downside 😊

Interestingly I was recently gifted a small slab of multi-layered dyed epoxy resin from an artist who pours the colors over ceramic lamp sections for a thick durable gloss surface. He had an 8 year build up of saturated colors. I would estimate that it is a whole factor harder than traditional Fordite. Not sure what epoxy he used, but it seems as hard as West epoxy I use to secure handle scales. The layers are less uniform than from a spray factory. I had dramatically different results laying the layers parallel versus perpendicular. I got the round irregular cut off from the main section he peeled from his work table. I believe he has plans to send to an electric guitar builder with plans for a very unique instrument.
