I have been fascinated with lookout towers since I was a kid
When I was backroading in the 90's a lot of them were all run down
I read a few years ago how they have fixed them up and are renting them now
Anyone have any experience renting lookout towers for camping?
I would love to see any pics or hear any recommendations
What is the low down?
I know there is a waiting list for most of the ones in California

Robb's Hut is one that is pretty remote and I am familiar with===>

I have to admit that would be friggin cool.

Problem is, they'd probably have to call in the SWAT team in to get me back out, and I don't think I need that kind of thing to deal with right now.

:D

When I was a kid (OK, OK, two weeks ago) I thought it'd be cool to have a lookout tower as the ultimate "tree house". Especially if I rigged up a dumbwaiter in the middle so i didn't have to carry stuff up.
