I am planning a PID controlled forge build. I have looked thru the stickies and did not see an active link to a proper blower. Seems like some useful pictures are gone as well.
Anyways would this be suitable for a burner that is choked down to a 1" stainless nipple?

If not can anyone offer a link to a suitable blower?

Thanks

It will work, but I wouldn't use it. First, it is a plastic blower. Second ... and most significant ... it creates 85Db at 15ft. That is really a lot of noise for something that is going to be running for hours a few feet away. Pretty much like mowing the lawn with no ear protection.

I would think so. It has sufficient static pressure and delivers 65 cf/m. The 112 cf/m blower would surely be sufficient, but unless the forge will be dedicated for damascus welding and running a big bore burner, I don't think it is necessary.

So if I were to plan for the future and possibly have several forges for specific tasks and move the same burner from forge to forge. It would be best to go with the higher output blower?

Yes. Like you said, you can choke the intake and use a manifold gate valve to control the air into the mixing chamber.
