Hi guys, I have more knives for you, if you want them! New designs, check the album for details. I particularly happy with the 5" drop points, simple, simple, great combat knives. The tanto neckers are pretty cool, too.
These are all hand made from 5160 spring steel. It's burly stuff, and makes a great user knife. I'd guess that it's around HRC 56, and should be readily sharpenable. It's can't hold up to something like s30v in terms of edge holding, but it does take a beating pretty well. It is a simple steel, it will rust if not oiled occasionally. The black finish on the blades is a combination of burnt oil and scale. It's an old blacksmiths finish, and it's not as durable as something like DLC, but it's really not bad. I expect it to chip/wear off of the blades over the course of use, but it should stay underneath the handle pretty well, and help prevent rust under the cord wrap.
The wrap on these is paracord available in black and olive drab, and the technique is borrowed from an old Chinese sword that one of the moderators of sword forum international deconstructed several years ago. It is one continuous weave or knot, and I wrap them incredibly tight. It's difficult to even shift one of the lines on these, and I'm pretty sure that they can't come unwrappped unless the cord is compromised. The sheaths are basic, but functional. They are heat formed out .060 kydex. They do scratch the polished finish of the knife just ever so slightly. It's really more like burnishing, the marks that it leaves are very slight. The best way that I have found to attach them with with a quick tie of cord through the top 4 holes. Tied correctly, this allows for a vertical or horizontal carry. You can request a loose, medium or tight fit for the sheath, and I will adjust it before shipping.
To buy, please email*powell.josh@gmail.com* for paypal and shipping details. Shipping will be $8.75 per order. If you aren't familiar with paypal, it's pretty easy, and you don't have to create an account in order to render payment. I would ask that if you commit to buying a knife, check your email. I will get back to you shortly, and ship quickly, and if you would do me the courtesy of being prompt, I would very much appreciate it. As always, questions, commentary, feed back, name calling, etc are welcome! Also, if you don't have the cash to pick one up today, there will be more later!
Thanks for the interest.
