I got this for free from my brother. Its 1/4" stainless tube about 14" in diameter, with a 6" opening of refractory.
With a little modification would this work for a forge?

I have left over firebrick from my oven build, in case I would need it for something.
I've never forged anything in my life so I'm not going to be going out and buying a $500 forge as of yet. Just something to learn with.
Any tips would be great.

Is it really heavy? If so, then we can say that concrete is not good for insulation. You could break the concrete out and put in kaowool. The tubing is a bit big, but should work.

This stuff is near impossible to break. Couldn't imagine trying to get all of that out.
And i also have some of that ceramic padding laying around.
Maybe I'll just fab something with my leftover firebrick and that padding.
