Ok so I've finally gotten around to building a real forge I followed the tutorials on the stickys and what not. But I just cant seem to get it to run right. Any advice?
I plan on adding PID and a solenoid to control it next month.

I tried one of the Atlas regulator on a small blown burner and it wouldn't deliver much flame. Those regulators are somewhat limited on total flow. A blown burner has lower pressure, but much greater flow rate.
Get a good regulator like the ones from HighTempTools and you will see a huge difference. A welding propane/acetylene regulator works well, too.

I'm gonna try some tweaks to the design and see if it help, if not I'll get another regulator. Thanks stacey.
I'm gonna get pid and Solenoid for it also. Where would the hook up for the solenoid go?

The solenoid goes in the gas line to the burner. Look at the sticky on PID control. There are good diagrams of my two-stage PID controlled burner.
