after all the fun i had with the soup can forge i am on to building something a little more useful! saturday night i got my new forge body welded up. i still have to install the burner holders and line the inside (yes its going to be 2 inches of ceramic blanket :) ).

then i just have to save up for the burners and the hose kit and i will be all good. and then an anvil of sorts.

What type and how many burners?

Keep us posted.

One of these days I'm going to build myself a new forge. The one I have now is a little small for anything over 7" blades. This is definitely one arena where size DOES matter. ;)

the forge body is a 10 inc diameter pip that is 14 inches long. so after i add my 2 inches of ceramic blanket it will be around 6 inches x 14. so i am going to use 2 of larry zoellers Z burners. he says that will do the trick!
