I have a gas forge that I purchased pretty cheap and it has a firebrick on the bottom and ceramic fiber (looks like cotton candy) insulation around the top and sides. It works great and I only run this outside but should I cover the insulation with some sort of clay or other coating? If so what do you reccomend.

thanks'

ITC-100. Darren ellis has it on his website. You shouldn't be running the forge with just the Kaowool bare

Yes, coat it with Satanite and then ITC-100. They come in powder form. Mix with water to thick milkshake consistency. I paint it on with a cheap paintbrush.
Let the Satanite dry well before the ITC-100 is applied. Let it all dry and then just warm the forge up a little a few times to cure it slowly.
Your lungs will like you for it. Fibers are bad.
