Forge made out of gas grill.

If I were to take just an ordinary gas grill, and isulate it with fire bick and fiberfrak blanket, would it get hot enough to forge and weld with the burner it has?

I use a BBQ burner in a horizontal salt pot for marquenching. Its insulated with 2" of kaowool and lined with refactory cement. The max temp I can get is about 750F.
BBQ burners are no where near hot enough to forge let alone weld. IMHO
