So I am working on making a small forge. Am getting the materials lined up, I am trying to figure out if I could use double wall stove pipe for the body of the forge. I have a 18" length 8" inside diameter stainless double wall pipe like this stuff just in 18" length http://www.ventingpipe.com/duravent-9605ga-8-x-24-galvanized-class-a-double-wall-chimney-pipe-length/p1762151

I was planning on lining it with the fiberglass stuff and the high heat liner goop (forgot what its called) and drill the hole for the inlet pipe plus eventually a hole for the temp sensor when I get to that point.

Just not sure if properly lined if it will work or not. Any recommendations appreciated.

I've made a couple forges out of the regular black stove pipe. You want to make sure its not galvanized steel. You going to need ceramic insulation and not fiberglass. It will need to be coated with some type of clay mixture. I guess most guys use Satanite as the coating.

Thanks for the help guys. The ceramic stuff I picked up is the same from high temp tools but I did order some of the itc and satanite and a gas burner kit.
