Im building an atmospheric forge and I have the parts and plan together, but I have one question.
How far should the burner tube extend into the forge body, if at all?

Here is what Im using,
7" pipe
1" Kaowool
Satanite
ITC100
Misc. plumbing to build the burner.

Thanks for the help.

All of my forges have the burner just flush with the interior of the forge. If you have it sticking inside the forge, it will generally burn off the match the interior edge/shape (yep, I did it...thats how I know) :) If the end of the burner is left recessed into the burner holder tube (if your forge has one), the end of the burner will overheat and the fuel/air mix will combust inside the burner tube, which makes a "muffled" sound, and produces very little heat.
