Looking to buy a knife forge. Any suggestions on what i will need to start. Most double burners I'm seeing say 2,000 degree temps. Is that enought to forge and/or heat treat?

2000 deg is plunty hot for general forging as well as heat treating steels that “can” be heat treated in a forge. What firge are you looking at. Burt foster makes a nice little forge that he sells. I don’t know the price but it’s quite reasonable.

Most forges reach much more than 2000°F. Welding is done at 2300-2400°F.
Two popular forge are the Atlas and Graham. They are made by one of out forum members. They are quite affordable, and available from several knife supply sources as well as from Atlas directly.
