This is the pommel of a sword I'm making.
As you can see, it doesn't want to sit flush with the tang, no matter what I do.
So, if I were to fire up my coal forge and get this thing white hot, then hammer it together a bit, would that be enough to make it stick together through heat treating & usage?
The tang & pommel pieces are both L6 steel.
