This is just some random pictures of some cable I located on my last trip to Fort Hood and some stuff I am forging.
Top is some W2 that I am forging, second down is a section of cable that Bruce was kind enough to send me and the bottom is some cable I am forge welding that I had recovered.
The little necker was forge welded from a section/strand of cable I forge welded from the cable I had recovered. I quenched it in P50.
I placed the cable in the forge to help burn off any junk and then wire brushed it and beat it with the hammer a bit to get some of the rust and junk out. I am using Borax for flux.
I am currently repairing my forges as a result of me burning some holes/valleys into the forge from the flux.
I formed a valley in the forge floor for flux drainage and will coat with ITC100 and once the Bubble Alumina arrives I will also coat with that.
