A little bigger hunter than I usually do, but sure ready for serious work. This is forged 01, brown canvas micarta handles, stainless pins and center mosaic pin. The blade has good belly to the point, thick enough for heavy chopping, but balances just at the first finger. With micarta, I finish to 400g to give a good non-slip surface. As usual the blade is edge quenched and hand sanded to a nice satin finish. Sheath is veg-tan and custom fit to this blade. Spec's are:
AOL: 9 5/8"
Blade: 4 1/8" to ricasso
Width: 1 1/2"
Thickness: 5/32"

Sure appreciate the kind words. Ben, I'm going to take your advice and do some more in this style in 01 and 1095 with different handle materials. Seems like there would be a place for a bigger working knife as hunting season comes on.

I was really impressed with all the knives Rick posts. Sent him a quick sketch and he made it even better! This will be my first forged knife too.
