Here is a Nicely Balanced Carving Knife for you to consider.

Spec's;
Distal tapered forged steel blade with full tang construction.
Blade length to the guard 9.125". Overall length 14."
Double temper lines.
416 stainless steel bolsters.
Cocobolo handle with mosaic pins.

At the thickest point on the blade .172" with a full distal taper.
I did not put any taper in the tang which gives it a good balance.

But of course! And I'll find more uses for it as well - like as a sashimi knife on steroids, perhaps. This would normally require a thinner blade but the full height grind of this carver will likely make it an equally effective slicer.

Also, I just got Dave's custom chef knife in the mail today and just have to say you should jump on one of his knives when you can. He has unbelievably nice work and the prices are reasonable, to say the least (about the same as production knives of much lower quality!).

Today at a hammer in I just purchased some more of the steel I used to make this carving knife from ALDO. "Alias the Steel Baron".
