Here is a little hunter that I forged this week. The pattern in the sheath was something I have seen Paul Long do. I tried it....... It is nowhere near as nice as what Paul does, but I am happy with it.

Forged 1084 w/slightly tapered tang
Black Linen Micarta Scales w/Stainless Bolts and Mosaic Pin
OAL - 8 1/2"
Blade Tip to Handle - 4 1/4"

This one is SOLD

Thanks............ Robert

Hey Robert,

I don't like to chat in the for sale threads, but, I had to tell you this.

I looked at the pic before reading the description. I said to myself, wow, that is a nice Paul Long sheath... then I read your notes. Very nice work.

Regards,
John Landi

Thanks John. A couple of years ago, I sent two knives to Paul. The resulting sheaths were astounding. He is a true master and a heck of a nice guy. We makers need to work toward making sheaths like Paul, Sandy, Chuck,....... and the list goes on. I try to produce a complete "Maker's Package", whether it be a forged blade or a stock removal blade, I feel that the sheath is a very important part of that package. I will never get to their level, but it gives me something to shoot for.

Very nice Brother Roberto

Thanks Mister Markster....... That means a lot coming from you. I hope you beat that nicotine devil. You will live longer.

And Robert persists in saying that he's no sheathmaker. The sheaths I've seen by him are as good as those made by many who claim to be. Several collectors who have seen my examples of his work are impressed too.

Robert ,
The knife came today and it is definately up to your usual standards.
Thanks for the "care package" too. That's an interesting development of a traditional design. It'll look good on my "possibles bag".

Ditto........... Robert makes a superb sheath that is also user friendly...... not just some piece of crap that comes along with the knife.

BUT a real sheath that is made for the knife you are getting.

My .02.
