I am a 3rd generation knifemaker just getting started in the family business. I have been busy making knives for 6 months now and need to start selling. This is my first attempt at selling on Blade so bear with any errors.

Here is my first attempt at a Bowie. This knife is a hand forged 5160 blade, I use new US made bar stock. I do not use patterns but allow a knife to create its own personality on the anvil. I then match it to a handle that best fits the blade. By not using patterns and natural material, no 2 knives will ever be the same.

Finger guard and butt cap are hand braised nickel/silver. Finger guards have seamless fit to blade to prevent water or bacteria building up along blade or enter handle. Both guards are hand ground to match handle.

Specs:
Blade: 8 1/8" tip to gaurd 1 1/2" wide, Mirror finish, shows some light grind marks. (working on that)
Handle: Idaho Elk antler 4 1/2" Long. Nice dark color.
Flat ground
Convexed cutting edge
Hidden tang
No Sheath for this knife. Can make one for additional $50.
Lifetime warrentee and sharping (My lifetime).

This knife fits the hand and is balanced very well. Every guy needs one of these by thier grill.

First "I'll Take it" gets it.

Price is $300 Reduced delivered CONUS via insured USPS with Delivery Confirmation. I am not set up on Pay Pal yet but will later this week. PM me to work out the details. 5 day return policy if knife is in as shipped condition.Elk Bowie side non stamp-1.jpgElk Bowie Stamp side.JPGElk Bowie stamp-1.jpgElk Bowie Bottom.jpgElk Bowie Top-1.jpg

Brother, you make some beautiful knives. You might want to check into "Knife Maker service provider" status however before someone comes down hard on you. It's required to sell your knives here in the custom forum.

Thanks for the look out on status. I purchased my membership yesterday but it is not showing in my profile. Checking into it now. And thanks for the compliment.

PW:

This knife has a lot of promise, however, as a fellow knifemaker, a few items come to my mind: $400 seems to be a fair price to ask for knife without errors, without grinding marks, and an elegant highly tooled sheath. There are a lot of perfect knives out there for that price. Get my drift? Good luck to you and I look forward to seeing more of your work. :)

Kindest regards,

TK Steingass

Thanks for the words of the wise. I understand your point. Testing the market. I just dropped the price $50. $350 for this knife with sheath appears to be a good deal. The grind marks I refferance are very light and only notice able in outside light conditions if someone is looking close. Read here to give an accurate discription and makers are their own worst judges as you know.

thanks again. PW

PW:

I'm going to have to apologize to you - in retrospect, what I said should have been sent to you in a PM. Another knifemaker pointed that out to me and he was right. Your honesty, forthright description of your product, and willingness to accept constructive criticism are all traits of a successful knifemaker. I hope you can accept an apology from an old curmudgeon that screwed up publicly.

Keep up the good work,

TK

Apology accepted. I apprecitate any and all advise I can get. No harm no foul. It made me think about the knife and i am going to refinish it.

I can't begin to tell you how many knives I've refinished - I think they're done and later see something I missed because of different lighting. Sometimes when they don't sell, I'll rehandle them with a different or better set of scales and they'll sell right away!
