Forged Bottle Openers

Interesting, but I prefer bottle openers on multitools, SAKs or knives. Just one less thing to carry.

I just use the Beverage Entry Tool from LaRue Tactical. They send one along with every order, so I have a few laying around.

A lot of blacksmiths make numerous items to help pay the bills. These are mostly functional curios that harken back to the days of craftsmen when items were hand made. These are mostly items that you break out at a party to use and to generate conversation. If you buy one of these items, make sure the makers mark is stamped on it and you have information on the maker. A couple of generations downstream someone will come across it and perhaps it will generate a few moments of wonder.

$150+ bottle openers.. eeks.. I am in the wrong business.. Often you will see them for lot more which crazy to me.. But insanity to one might be relative to another normal man..
I do however carry a casey lynch pry bar that has bottle opener, but it was a bic lighter that filled it's role prior to the prybar. Best $60 I've ever spent on the pry bar(some might think that was crazy), as I use it all the time, and saves the edge on my blades.
Gerber shard is like 5 bucks, pretty much does the same.

wow, an article on bottle openers.. and very average looking ones at that.. must be a friend writing the article...

Nothing new with this concept..

I too prefer to carry smaller items or items that can do multiple tasks..

And opening a bottle is easy with any squared off hard object.. meh

LOL - You remind me of Debbie Downer....

Got one forged opener coming in mail in fact. Rustic looking but that's what I like. Pics later.

Cool to see some hand forged stuff. You can get a factory bottle opener for pennies, so this makes more sense to me as a high end tool than a $50 piece of CNC.

I see nothing wrong with forged bottle openers, everybody has their category where they feel like splurging. They look really nice, and they're sure to start a conversation upon use.

Some folks like nice pens, some folks like nice wallets, some folks like nice bottle openers. It's no concern of mine where people spend their money.

Just got today my bit "more humble" hand forged opener from south saxon forge. Should be fun popping some good brews with this one!
I do admire drunken marmot forge's openers and would love to have one some day.

I am a huge fan of Rob Amsler's stuff. Look him up, if you don't know who he is. He makes great knives, tools & magnetic bottle openers.

I happen to have a forged bottle opener. It's one of these:

A lot of leverage for the beverage on that one! Pun intended - Nice!
