I make these for gifts from time to time, and found myself with an afternoon to myself this week, so I made three to sell. They are forged out of mild steel, wire brushed with a brass wheel, and are sealed with a 50/50 mix of boiled linseed oil and wax. I have been carrying one in my back pocket for about 6 months now and no rust, the oil and wax do a great job of corrosion resistance.
