Forged Camp Knife

Burt your sense in a little skewed :) .. Rough for you is pretty polished looking to me. I'd almost think you were going for a "Wabi-Sabi" effect but I suspect your "imperfect" is actually quite perfect in the grinds and overall finish. :D

I don't think Burt Foster can DO rough. That is one of the reasons that you are so awesome Burt.
IMO:D

Gorgeous knife Burt and nice picture !
Have fun with this one......and if you don't......you know what to do ;)

When do we get to see the fancy-schmancy sheath? (say that 5 times fast)

Roger

Another example of the outstanding knives we have come to expect from you.
The school is very fortunate to have you as an teacher.

I hope you give us a look at the sheath?

Yeah guys, here's the sheath. I usually prefer pouch sheaths with no retaining straps, but I'll be backpacking with this one and it probably won't be carried on my belt. If I go with the "I'm a middle-aged guy who's playing army in the woods so I'm gonna carry it upside down on my shoulder strap" then I can do that. The strap will easily fall out of the way when it's unsnapped, it it generally won't be in the way.

I also tooled it with stamps and tools I've made. (The little "seeder" tool at the intersection of the quilted lines is a store-bought tool.) I stole the quilted pattern from Paul Long, but Paul, being the gentleman he is didn't give me too much crap about it. :D:D

Thanks for lookin'

Very nice knife Burt, and that piece of ironwood is just amazing. I'm even more impressed with that beautiful sheath. Great work!

That's an all around great looking carry! I love the knife and the sheath is primo!

Great looking work as usual....reminds me of Daniel Winklers work....I need to get my butt back in my shop and make a new one myself....SeeYa

Great rig  Love it  Drool ;)

Is the knife stamped with 20MS09 on the right hand side of the blade, Burt?
