Here’s recent chef I forged from 1” round W1. Has a nicely rounded spine, and a pretty decent dirty hamon, hand rubbed to 600 grit, etched and oxides polished off with polishing paste.
It’s 14.5” over all and has a blade right around 9.5”. The handle is stabilized spalted maple.
