I forged this from 5160 steel; toughness is a property of this steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 using three normalizing and two tempering cycles with attention to a fine grain throughout the blade
Flat grind with some forge texture
Black vintage Micarta handle sanded to 120 grit for grip. This stuff is very hard; it's like sanding on a brick.
Overall length: 14 1/2 inches
Blade: 9 inches
approximately 3/16 at the thickest tapering to the point
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
