“Slippard.”

Forged, full tapered tang slow drop point hunter, flat ground with distal taper. As are a couple other knives I’m selling right now, the blade is heavy coil spring from a GT Mustang, I think it’s 5160 (and it heat treats like 5160) but I’m not gonna lie, just making an educated guess on this one… clay quenched and tempered with a nice visible temperline.
Scales are cocobolo, with SS bolsters, pins and thong tube. Handle is contoured to fit the hand well, with a definite “palm swell.” Overall length on this one is 10”, blade is 5-3/8” from point to bolster at choil area is 5-3/8”. Included in price are shipping anywhere in the 48 contiguous states, and the pictured sheath- molded pouch type veg-tanned horsehide, RH carry, black finish.

$240.00 U.S. Asking price.
Price dropped to $220.
Price dropped to $200.
SOLD PENDING FUNDS.
This one, while not super heavy, definitely has a solid feel with the full tang, bolsters, and cocobolo- fits the sheath like a glove, too. It has a fairly fine slicing edge all the way down, but not too delicate, either.

I make knives to the best of my ability and knowledge. I research to find the best materials and methods to use, in order to provide the very best product, in terms of value, durability, performance, and aesthetics. Should you find a knife you have bought from me to be lacking in any of these respects, you may ship it back to me at my expense for a full money-back return.

Should a knife purchased from me fail in materials or workmanship, please ship it back to me at my own expense for your money back in full, or repairs at no cost. Your choice.

I will sharpen any of my knives at no cost, however I do ask that you pay for shipping costs for this service.

I am always pleased to hear from any of my customers, past, repeat, potential, or otherwise. Please go to my web site, see "Contact Me" and give me a call. If you have any questions regarding these policies, I'd like to hear them.

I own one of Salem's knives and it is among my absolute favorites. If I am pulling out my custom knives, his work is ALWAYS showcased! The new owner of this one will not be disappointed!

Great job.......really like the size, blade-style, and that tappered-tang. :)

I think that most coil-spring steel is 9260 as opposed to flat-spring of 5160.

That's a fine looking knife. Nice taper on the tang and the beveled bolsters are a nice touch. That palm swell looks like it would make for a comfortable sure grip. Add in the GT Mustang coil spring blade and that's a winner.

I like to keep my fixed blade carries at 8" OAL or less. I'm sorely tempted by this one.

Allright guys, thanks for your input. Hey there BradB, glad to hear that blade is treating you right. Dawkind, interesting comment. 9260, eh? I'll look into that one... Peregrin, thank you for your thoughtful comments. All of this to say... BTT.

I bought the other one Salem had listed. If you have any reservations on Salem's work.......don't. This guy can make a knife!! Nice to work with. And a lifetime warranty.

He worked with Ken Onion for a while when he lived in Hawaii. Ken tought him a few tricks that show up in Salem's creations. His work is CHEAP right now. Buy it if you like it because his stuff is going to get more expensive as he becomes better known.

He is making me a throwing bowie right now.

Back for one more look, if no takers then this one is going to a knife show with me.... thanks for looking, guys. Price dropped to $200.

Salem I haven't bought a knife from you yet, but you sure have my attention with the quality of work you've been displaying here. Keep up the good work. I feel it is just a matter of time until your craftsmanship and my particular taste collide.

You have no idea how long I stared at this knife. Unfortunately, I went and spent all of my cash on another maker. Mr. Straub, you're on the list of guys that I need to buy from one of these days.

You're gentlemen's cutters are pitch perfect.
