Last minute Christmas orders are a given for knifemakers around this time of year, and here is one that was no longer needed by the one who ordered it. Blade was forged from 1095 steel that was clayed and quenched to produce a hamon line. Thickness of the blade is 0.110" at the ricasso and has a full distal taper down to the point, reaching a 4.5" cutting edge length. The handle is composed of a polished brass bolster with matching brass pins on top of a set of robust elk scales, by far the most solid elk I've ever used. Overall length reaches an even 9.5" total. As usual for me, the profile of the knife has been polished to eliminate any roughness in the hand. A beautiful yet simple piece overall.
