This is another I have recently finished with the whole 18th century concept in mind.

This is a through tang constructed piece. The blade is hand forged 5160 and has numerous levels of a patina giving it a very aged and realistic apperance. It is held inplace with epoxy as well as a single hammered copper pin.

The guard is forged and has a hammered and textured finish.

The handle is also gone through several processes , alowing it to be well finished yet also a very accurate depiction of what a knife from this era would look and feel like. I hope to post more photo's if needed of the closeup details.

The copper wire is fine copper twisted by hand aged and wrapped around the curly maple to add character and detail to the knife.

The specs are about 15'' over all, with about 10'' of cutting edge. The width is just under 1 1/2''.

I am considering a rawhide over leather type sheath, or possible a hair on sheath. But will discuss that with the new owner and will be additional to the knife.

I accept paypal, money order and check.

Price is $$300 and I am willing to work with the new owner on the sheath price and details.

thanks
Andrew

great work, I would like to know about the procces in which the copper was used..Did you wrap it around first then " let it age", or is there some method you used to make it look like it does. Thank You-Mark
