I forged this from a ball peen hammer.
Heat treated to about 55 Rockwell hardness on the edge and somewhat softer in the body
A disclaimer: I know that someone will want to throw this hawk so I will include a hickory haft so when you break it you can buy a new one for $5-6. Unless you are expert at hawk throwing you will break it eventually. The maple haft is not replaceable.
The curly maple haft is 19 inches long
Hawk head is 8 inches including the spike
Cutting edge is about 3 inches
